About Us

Behind the brand: Kyaw Kyaw Htun

Kyaw Kyaw Htun, under the leadership of its CEO, Mr. Aye Tun, has a compelling story deeply rooted in values and a profound connection to the land. Hailing from Sittwe in Rakhine State along Myanmar's western coastline, Mr. Tun's journey was initiated in a small grocery store managed by his father, Mr. Ba Sein. Here, invaluable lessons in trade, customer service, and a deep appreciation for the region's natural abundance were imbibed. The principles of honesty, responsibility, and the well-being of staff and farmers were central to his upbringing.

Throughout the years, Mr. Tun, much like his father, has been the recipient of immense respect and admiration. His entrepreneurial spirit, guided by clear decision-making and forward thinking, has significantly shaped the ethos of the company. At Kyaw Kyaw Htun, it is widely recognized that the character of a leader permeates throughout the organization, and Mr. Tun's honesty and ethics are deeply resonated with by his dedicated team.

The company's board of directors is comprised of individuals with a diverse range of skills acquired through hands-on experience. Their collective knowledge and expertise complement each other, emphasizing a profound commitment to diligence, compliance, and social and environmental responsibilities.

Over two decades, Kyaw Kyaw Htun has been nurtured by Mr. Tun into a robust, family-focused domestic trading company, with a primary focus on a wide array of agricultural products sourced from all seven provinces and states of Myanmar. In 2010, a strategic expansion into the export market was initiated by the company, diversifying into products such as black matpe, chickpeas, green mung beans, pigeon peas, turmeric fingers, tamarind, dry ginger, and red and yellow onions. This strategic move has been instrumental in fueling the company's substantial growth in recent years, underscoring Kyaw Kyaw Htun's unwavering commitment to excellence and ethical business practices.

Diversity and Empowerment: Women in Our Workforce

In our operations, a dedicated team of 15 full-time staff is employed, primarily consisting of men. This composition is due to the physically demanding nature of the work in areas such as warehousing, processing, and sorting. However, a different example is set by our management team, with 100% representation by women. These capable women not only supervise their respective teams but also handle crucial aspects of our business, including accounts, human resources, logistics, and finance.

Active encouragement is given to women to participate in our work sessions, creating a safe space where their hopes for improved living conditions can be freely shared. It is firmly believed that women's full participation in the workforce not only increases productivity but also has a favorable effect on their general wellbeing.

Through support and guidance, remarkable progress has been witnessed among our women workers. Their consistency, unwavering focus on their tasks, and discipline have set a benchmark, making them valued assets to our team and showcasing that their contributions often surpass those of their male counterparts. This commitment to staff well-being and women's empowerment is an integral part of our company's ethos, creating a more diverse and equitable work environment.
